‘Widow’ embodies a sense of loss of something deeply familiar and personal; loss of something within the home environment; loss of a safe space and the vulnerability that ensues. It is a habitat with no entry, a fortress.
By exploring the spaces we inhabit, ‘Widow’ is a response to the threatening and chaotic environmental circumstances of 2020 and the shift in sensibility to the notion of ‘home’.
